Bed & Breakfast

What if the children have left  the nest ? How to fill the empty spaces of the large farm dating back from 1890 ? For us the answer lies in the start-up of a cosy B&B for families. The joy of being with guestss, to give them a taste of the life in the countryside, to show them the flat fields of Flanders. These are our ambitions.

The estate "The Luyckhoek" is situated in the tranquil, rural village of Handzame, a 10-minute drive from the highway E403. The cities of Bruges, Roeselare, Ieper, Oostende lie in a radius of 20 km. It is the ideal place for the entire family to visit the historical inner city of Bruges or the battlefields of the first World War. Bicycle routes run through the polders with meadows and grazing cows and the countryside with greenyards on sandy loam.

The barn from the end of the 19th century was restored and transformed into a guesthouse. The original exterior walls and the roof with rafters were retained and let you relive long gone times. All rooms are equipped with a box-spring bed, a private bathroom and cable TV. They have parquet floors and wooden ceilings. The rooms overlook the church tower and surrounding fields.

Accomodation

The B&B “Luyckhoek” has 4 rooms, a terrace with large garden and orchard (5000 m2), a sitting area with fireplace and kitchenette, and spacious accommodations with a flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. There is private parking for bicycles, motorcycles and cars. An outside door gives access to a large seating area with bar, the breakfast room and the leisure room with indoor games. This space can be used for parties with up to 50 people

The rooms bear the name of local mills and have each an individual design and atmosphere.
